"Relaxation
does not mean going limp or collapsing...[It] means moving efficiently.
It means resting while you are moving."

"I highly recommend Catherine Taye. She understands complex body movements and has great skills for resolving the problems that result from injury and physical imbalance.
After my car accident, I had chronic back pain and problems with my walk. Regular massage helped a little but the results didn't last. After several sessions with Catherine, the limp was almost gone! After a few more sessions, my chronic back, rib, and neck pain was noticeably reduced.
Catherine is a true healer with compassion, intelligence, and a sense of humor. I can't thank her enough!"
-T.S. "In my profession, I spend the vast majority of my workday sitting at either my desk or a conference table. Starting in my mid-30's, I began to experience pain in my lower back. A few times a year, my lower back would go into muscle spasm. It was usually precipitated by some seemingly benign movement, such as reaching for a jar of peanut butter. In the early days, the pain would resolve on its own after a few days. As the years passed, the frequency of the spasms increased, as did the associated pain. By the time I got into my early 40's, it had progressed to the point where my lower back hurt all the time, and the pain was starting to radiate down into my legs. I tried acupuncture, which seemed to help during a spasm episode, but it provided only temporary relief. I am well versed in the traditional, Western medicine approach to back pain: medications, physical therapy, and surgery. I wanted to try something less invasive, and my research led me to Rolfing. Conceptually, it made sense to me. If you spend the vast majority of your waking hours in a seated position, it stands to reason that over the years, the connective tissues in your muscles and joints will begin to shorten. That can only lead to imbalances in your body structure, and imbalances will invariably result in pain.
I found Catherine Taye on the Internet. I can't say enough good things about her. I began to feel a difference after the very first session. I wanted to complete the process as quickly as possible, but Catherine encouraged me to space out the sessions by two to three weeks to allow my body to adjust the changes it was experiencing. I completed the 10 session series over the course of about five months.
It has now been two years since I completed the series, and I have continued to remain pain-free since that time. If you suffer from chronic neck or back pain, I would strongly recommend that you give Rolfing a try. No drugs, no multiple visits to a physical therapist, and most importantly, no scalpels! Rolfing's reputation for being painful is undeserved. If you can handle a deep tissue massage, you can handle Rolfing. I always left a session feeling totally relaxed. Catherine Taye is a knowledgeable and gifted healer, and I would recommend her without hesitation."

"2 years
before my Rolfing series, I was injured in a fall while climbing.
The process of Rolfing has made a significant improvement on my
overall well-being. I no longer have the pain I was fighting every
time I moved and I feel much, much better. I would recommend Rolfing
to people on a regular basis."

"Rolfing
with Catherine has opened me up to the possibilities of bodywork. I used to think that things like this were kind of self-indulgent,
but instead I've found that Rolfing genuinely helps me deal with
stress and chronic pain. I now feel like I have more choices regarding
my health; it's great to have options that weren't there for me
before. I feel more in control of my pain now and this has greatly
improved my mental outlook, general health and well-being. Catherine
brings a special talent to her work, and I feel blessed to be able
to work with such a caring, talented practitioner."

"Before I got Rolfed, I had constant neck pain. My neck hurt so much that it was hard to be patient with my family and employees, and it was difficult to do the work I needed to do around the house and in the restaurant. Sitting up after Catherine worked on my neck and feeling my head turn freely from side to side without pain was incredible. I had been so afraid my neck couldn't ever feel good again. It makes a big difference in my life not having such pain all the time."
-Ronnie N., Restaurant Owner "I have
really enjoyed my Rolfing sessions with Catherine. As a practitioner,
she is very knowledgeable, gentle, and dependable. When I
started Rolfing, I wasn't sure what it was, but Catherine took the
time to educate me so that I would understand and appreciate it
for all of its many benefits. I like how each Rolfing session
is focused on a different part of the body. I also find the
sessions to be very relaxing yet rejuvenating at the same time.
I believe that the Rolfing sessions have really helped me to release
tightness in certain areas of my body that massage and yoga were
not able to release. I highly recommend giving Rolfing a try,
and I highly recommend working with Catherine. You won't be
disappointed!"

"I brought my daughter to Catherine because I could see that Anna was really uncomfortable in her body--she is tall and had been getting more and more "slouchy" and was having some pain in her neck and back. Anna really connected with Catherine, and her Rolfing sessions have helped her feel much better. She is noticeably more confident and coordinated in school athletic activities."
-Marta S. (mother of Anna age 14) "Before I started my 10 week Rolfing series with Catherine, I couldn't run a 5K and be able to walk the next day. After an MRI the diagnosis was: quit doing anyhing that hurts. Also, I'd had a pain under my shoulder blade for years that no one could figure out. At 32, quitting running, biking, and hiking was not an option--so needless to say, I was living with pain. Now, after my Rolfing series, I am currently training for my second half marathon, and have no pain in my back. I cannot thank Catherine enough, and will continue to enjoy a better quality of life because of Rolfing."
