"…I
did yoga, I was very careful about what I ate, generally I thought
of my body as something I had to be very careful with. I thought
of my body as a temple. Then I tried Rolfing – and discovered
it was an amusement park!"

Rolfing®
Structural and Movement Integration balances your body in relationship
to gravity—making it more comfortable and capable—through
hands-on soft tissue work and movement education.
Rolfing works by opening, lengthening, and softening
restrictive fascia (thin sheets of connective tissue that surround
muscles and other tissues throughout your body) and by helping you
to become aware of and to change inhibiting movement patterns.
Rolfing uses a series of 10-15 individualized
sessions to bring lasting changes to the body. Each session is different;
cumulatively they balance your body and movements by releasing lifelong
patterns of effort, compensation, tension, and strain.
"One
individual may experience his losing fight with gravity as a
sharp pain in the back, another as the unflattering contour
of his body, another as constant fatigue, and yet another as
an unrelenting threatening environment. Those over forty may
call it old age; yet all these signals may be pointing to a
single problem so prominent in their own structures and the
structures of others that it has been ignored: they are off-balance;
they are all at war with gravity."
